Contract 1: Arata's First Assassination

Junichi woke up from his bed, wearing a white shirt and a black pair of Adidas tracksuits, he yawned a bit and stretched his arms, before looking at the camera that rested apon the wall opposite his bed, nice feeling to know you're being watched while you sleep, he then walked towards the door and opened it, he knew it was time to step into the Animus for another day, as he had memories of his ancestors to collect, hooray.
He walked towards the machine and noticed a note, it read a few contracts on it, the first one was interesting.

He walked towards the machine and layed inside of it, as the scientists got to work on it and suddenly he was transported into the mind of his Ancestory, Arata.

Arata was walking through the streets of rome, blending in and not making too much of a disturbance for the folk around him, as he was going to meet a contact in one of the streets for an assassination, he saw the man in the distance, he slowly walked next to him casually, whispering "You had a job for me?" he asked, his japanese accent obvious when he was speaking English.

"Yes..." The man spoke back to Arata, trying to avid his gaze and drawing attention to himself by one of the passer-bys. He wore a ragged top and tattered sandals but a money pouch hung at his belt. He discreetly cut it away with a fine knife before handing it to Arata.
"Those people over there, behind me." He spoke, turning his back onto the scene that was occurring in the distance. By a few market stalls were a few bandits, surrounded by guards that seemed to be backing away. The bandits had drawn their swords and they were stained with dried blood. Clearly they weren't amateurs. "Their leader is Keith, but he isn't here at the moment. He's probably up the road."

Akira took the money and stuffed it inside one of his pockets of his tailored suit, nodding, "And you want me to get rid of their leader, I suppose?" he assumed, it was obvious he needed to find a way to get to the leader and swiftly kill him, all while not being seen by the members of his gang or having an escape route planned to elude them, but that was a bit ambitious, as he lacked his two katanas, which he stupidly left in Japan, the only thing he remembered to bring were his twin concealed blades, which he supposed were useful enough, seeming as he was good at hand to hand combat.

He smirked and nodded, walking casually away from the man, taking a think alleyway instead of the large main street to avoid being seen, he would then try to get to the leader's position by going through the alleyway and linking up with the main road, which seemed to be rather crowded with merchants and people, and quite a lot of carts.

He looked around shiftily, walking slowly into the main road.

"Yes, as quietly and discreetly as you can. The quieter the better, since they mustn't know we are here yet." The man replied, also walking away when Arata did so.
The side streets were small and dark, as they were in the shade. It was smelly as the sewage drainage systems ran down the centre of the street, where many people could step in them. They had not yet invented and installed proper sewage systems, but that was soon to come.

When Arata was finally out onto the main road, one of the straw-filled carts tumbled past him at breakneck speed, almost running him over. On the back was a crazed bandit, holding a bow and arrow. Upon sight of Arata, he let loose the arrow, but it curved in the wind generated by the cart. He was then promptly thrown off by a brave bystander and taken away by guards who had captured him.
The sound of running footsteps could be heard in the murmur of quiet voices of those that had gathered to see this scene.

Akira shiftily looked around before joining the road, passing Keith's men out of sight as he took a completely different road, he joined the road which would lead to Keith, blending in with his surroundings, hoping to be able to kill him and walk away as it nothing happened, but, suddenly, it appeared a cart with some crazed maniac tried to fire an arrow at him, Akira took evasive action, but there was no need, it appeared that a sudden gust of wind blew the arrow in a different direction and curved it away from him.

Akira looked around and waited for the guards to walk away and arrest the criminal, when the guards were clear he hopped onto the cart, if the guard asks what he was doing, Akira would just say that he was the owner of this cart, and that he had been looking for it for ages.

Akira made the horse turn around by tugging the leash to the right, before he made the horse set off at an easy pace towards Keith, the horses weren't going very fast, at about walking pace, so they wouldn't hit anyone or knock them over.

Akira took the leash and dived into the pile of hay, since it was a pretty good shock absorber, only rustling was heard, but he held on to the leash, simply keeping it straight so the horses didn't turn.

Keith, from his vantage point in one of the disused towers of Rome, surveyed the city with his brilliant eyes - almost akin to those of an Eagle. His hands rested upon the balcony in front of him and he looked down to the ground, which was about 20 metres away. He turned to make sure the window behind him was still clear and the rooftop nearby had no patrolling guards upon it. When he also checked the door to the room was barred, he was happy. He resumed surveying the scene, his eyes passing over the horse and riderless cart...
But he paid it no attention.

Akira looked up through the straw and noticed he was out of Keith's view, he waited for his time, he jumped out of the straw and looked around, wondering where he could go in order to get to the top of the tower where his bounty was residing, he walked slowly, analyzing any form of market, ledge or small house he could scale in order to make it to the top of that tower to kill Keith and finish his mission.

In front of Arata was a stack of barrels, a walkway that connected to the wall of the tall building and horizontal poles that were placed about two metres apart from each other and as they went along the wall, they were positioned slightly higher. There was also another walkway, a slightly broken ladder propped against the wall and bricks jutting out of the building up until the roof.
The roof was several metres long and wide, for it covered more than one abode. At one end was the tower where Keith resided. This tower was covered in horizontal and vertical poles that held the crumbling bricks together.

Arata ran towards the barrels and jumped towards them, landing on the highest one and springing up off of that to grab the ledge of the walkway and hoist himself up, placing his legs over the walkway and hopping onto it, running through the walkway, he jumped onto the first horizontal pole, hoisting himself up upon it, before he jumped towards the second and leapt towards it, grabbing it before hoisting himself up again, repeating the process before he jumped onto the walkway, running towards the ladder he ran up the non broken bars of the ladder before he jumped and grabbed the brick, grabbing each brick with his hand and resting his feet on the one below it and began to rock climb the side of the building, he grabbed the roof lining and hoisted himself upon the roof, running across the roof towards the tower, jumping into the first horizontal pole, hoisting himself upon it before he hopped the numerous poles to reach the top of the tower, he intruded via the window of Keith's room before he ran towards him with his concealed blade deploying and attempting to stab him in the neck, if it worked it would cut his artery and his voicebox, so he would die and not be able to call for help.

Keith had heard the sounds of someone climbing up the side of the structure. However, he had been focusing his attention on the door and window he had been looking out of for he did not know where the sounds of crumbling masonry and footsteps were coming from. By the time he realised, it was too late. He half span around before he was grabbed and his throat slit, blood pouring out everywhere. He tried in vain to stem the bloodflow and to call out but no words came. He shuddered before dying in his arms.

Akira sighed as blood began to seep onto his clothing, he took out a white feather and slowly swabbed it against his cut neck, the blood soaking the feather and drying into it, so if the man asked if he had killed him, he'd have some form of proof, but Akira wondered if he should take his entire head as proof, it wouldn't be easy though, but he figured the feather would do.

He blew on the feather until he dried, but then he heard footsteps, he quickly looted the man's body of any weapons or money bags he may have, or anything of actual value, including any jewellery if he wore any, before he hoisted the man up and placed him inside his wardrobe and closed it, putting any moneybags he found inside his pockets, and if the man had a sword, he'd simply loot it and place it on his back, before he ran towards the window hurriedly, looking outside and noticed a cart full of cushions, he jumped out of the window and frontflipped a few times and landed into the cart, the cushions absorbing the blow just fine, he hopped out of the cart just before the driver could realise what the heck just happened.

When Arata tried to loot the man, it may have been wise to note this was merely a bandit. While they were notorious for being vicious thieves, they may not have cared fully about the loot they brought back from their crusades. All Keith had on him was 10 Florins that may be useful for buying some bread, and a small knife with a broken but jagged blade of 8 centimetres long.
The bandit was stuffed into the wardrobe and Arata performed his escape just as two armed guards started their patrol, beginning to walk up the spiral staircase to the barred door to see what all the noise was about. It was good fortune he had gone by the time they got to the door for not everyone is searchable before guards emerge.

With Arata's escape done, the man in tattered clothes looked on happily at the market square as the bandits were finally beaten in battle by the soilders of Rome.

Akira ran toward the man in tattered clothes, a few strands of straw in his hair that he shook out when he jumped into the pile, he looked at the man and showed him the feather "Here's proof, not sure that you need it though, seeing as the commotion is enough proof already, yet you can have it as a present." he spoke with a look of success and pride, he had just killed his first man and made his first assassination, his father would have been proud.

He smiled and walked away into the city center of Rome, a smile of pride on his face, knowing now he had enough money to get himself a proper blade

The man took the feather, smiling and bowing. He discreetly pocketed it and stepped away from the meeting place. It wouldn't be long before he would be looking to hire another of the fantastic assassins.
