Rogue Contract 2: Decide a Leader/Reuniting with the Demon

Ezekiel had been in the warmth of a fire down in the Romulus lair. He smelled the crackling fire's smoke. Fresh garbage. An awful smell, but trashed wood comes in handy. He and some other followers were cooking up some meat. This was goat meat he had stolen from the nearest family. He already fitted in. There were still a couple that looked at him strange, but he always set them straight. His eyes glistened and his hair flowed, a breeze in the sewers it seemed. A follower had signaled him to go out and look for more food. Ezekiel did this once he finished his meal. He and 2 other followers went out a secret passage away into the streets of Venice. The dark, dark night time was illuminated by the street lights. He had roamed the streets for several hours. The other two followers had drifted off, taking seperate paths to find food.

Ezekiel could tell there was a party going on on the otherside of the town. He obviously would be thrown out if spotted, maybe attacked. But parties usually contain feasts. So he proceeded to the party, taking the alley way to remain hidden. He pulled out a dagger and found a guard, covering his mouth and slicing his throat open. He dragged him into a bale of hay, and took his armor. There had been blood on the chest of the armor, but Ezekiel cleaned it off before it could dry. He proceeded to replace the guard for a while. Then, a group of guards asked him, a newbie, to make sure there were no casualties trying to transfer the food out in the open. When he got there, he would note that there were only three people. Noone was close enough to hear the screams. Ezekiel would throw two knifes at the two furthest people and would snap the neck of the closest person. Retrieving his knives, he made a howling sign to signal the followers. They would appear not long after and the food would be escorted through the alley and to the lair of romulus. They would use potato sacks to carry the food.

Although it wasn't so clean afterwards, the ones that didn't eat feasted upon the food. Ezekiel and the two who came with him were offered the rest of the scraps, and that added to be quite the feast as well. Whilst the followers were asleep, Ezekiel had escaped the lair to explore. He was back in his black robes and he had walked the night-time streets for a while, knowing the guards where concentrated on the party. He just roamed around...waiting for something interesting to happen.

Ezekiel had not been angry that the followers from before were killed and eaten, but about back at the galleon. At the mention of the party, he laughed. "You think I care for the lives of people I am forced to serve under? I have to live in a dump, the only place I have. Once I am a ghost for long enough, I can leave for Constantinople. Actually, I might be happy if you killed those lunatics." he said, clapping. He had a darkness in his eyes. The air became cold, revealing the breath exhaled out of the mouth. Ezekiel would moisten his lips and then he would start to pace. " Did you betray me back there? Or was it some scheme to obtain the apple? I am not sure. But I surely don't stand a chance against you now. Nor do I have a chance to join the templars. Infact, I am going to Constantinople to find out about my family history. I need to know if I chose the wrong side." he said. There would be a howling sound and Ezekiel would pull out his daggers out of reaction. This was not towards Tenchi, but towards the sound. He motioned Tenchi to pull out his weapons.

He wanted to tell him he is not allowed outside the lair unless he is with another follower, but it isn't important. Then, 3 of the Romulus followers would appear infront of the two, and then 3 behind. Animo would walk out of the alley way with two great axes.

" You violated the rules. And we are here to retrieve you. The 2nd time requires punishment. If you come back nicely, we won't kill you. " Animo said. Ezekiel would spit on the ground.
"I am not going back into that dump." he said, doing a roll behind two of the followers, slamming his daggers into them. 4 followers would drop from the roof tops. Ezekiel would pull out the daggers and would throw one at the last of the 3 followers he attacled and would retrieve that one as well. He would run up the wall, jumping backwards and landing on the side of the building, he would jump again behind Animo, attacking him. Animo would step forward and dodge, doing a spinning motion with the great axes. Since he did not signal the 4 followers from the rooftops, he accidently kills them. Ezekiel would do a back step and would signal Tenchi to attack the three behind him.

Ezekiel would do a backwards cartwheel into the alleyway 2 times. He would pull out two throwing knives and would fake one through, and through one 2 inches off the ground, but still allowing it to glide to the ankle of Animo. The second throwing knife would be thrown towards towards his shoulder. Then, he would replace them and through one at Animo's heart, and the other at his stomach. Pulling out his daggers, he would swiftly rush forward, jump onto the wall to his left, and would wall jump onto a ledge. He would climb onto the rooftop and would start speaking. "Tenchi, you bastardo. Your going to allow the three that were behind you to live? And then you attack me? Blame that giant man for making me supply for these savages. In the lair, I am useless.

Out in the open, their numbers can be handled. " he would rant. Ezekiel would jump to a platform extended off a building on the other side of the street. He would do so swiftly and would jump onto Animo's back, thrusting his daggers down into his neck. If this succeeds, he will handle Tenchi.

(Just saying, I never betrayed you.)

Ezekiel would not be hit by the house's shrapnel. It would scatter elsewhere and he would be left confused. " I never betrayed you. I never attacked you. You betrayed me and the Peasant. You went to bow to Diasollo. He had the apple. " he would say, explaining. Ezekiel would be in a defensive stance, not wanting to attack. He would stand normally, and would drop his daggers. He would look at the ground, turn, and walk away. His intention was to ride his Galleon to Roma. There he would be able to stay incognito. "I am done. If you want me to fight, I will fight. I am not going to die for nothing. If your ignorance is so high, then leave me be. If your wish is to kill me, then kill me. I am not looking for a fight." he would say, turning his head. Then, he would start walking.

Ezekiel was not going to try against the apple. He stood no chance. The battle would only lead to death. If only I had a piece...I could actually fight him... he thought. There was no heart in battle. He would make a good distance between the two, and would turn again. "I have to ask of this, how did I betray you?"

Ezekiel starting becoming angry from the accusations. "You told me you weren't going to help. He was already powering the apple, your lucky your alive. Plus, there is usually a party here in Venice a couple times a year. I was not informed they were your men, you cannot blame me for being forced to do something to obtain food for beings who have to fight to obtain food. Do you know how hard it is? Something like this might happen to another group of scavengers. Do not put the blame on me completely. And I am not to blame for what happened in Navarre! And when did I seek to attack you?" he would say, lowering his temper. He would then listen to his words. Ezerkiel became confused with his words, joining or fighting? " I wanted to stop fighting becuase if I die this early, I can't get revenge on the templars that had betrayed us. I want to kill all templars, my uncle, and I have other things I have to achieve. I will fight you, but I will not do my best. Do you know why? Because I can't die. I need to know and do things more important than this fight. Do you understand? There are just things on my list that are need-to-do's. We will simply spar, and if I do good, I will join. But you must let me do the things I need to do." he would say, trying to explain why he didn't want to fight. He retrieved his daggers, turned to him, and put on a battle-ready stance. He would await Tenchi's preparations.

It would not be fair if Tenchi couldn't prepare. So he sighed and began concentrating. The destroyed building had some climbable remains. And there were shrapnel light enough to be thrown. He took in his surroudings for this match. He disliked Tenchi, for his condensecending attitude was displeasing and had annoyed him.

[Assuming you're still a Templar, as you said, there's really no need to elect a rogue leader, so...]

Tenchi was about ready to challenge Ezekial when a black arrow pierced the skies and landed in the ground before him. When he looked to the roofs to see where it came from, there was nothing there. It must have been an assassin trying to either send a message or make a point to Tenchi. He knelt down and pickd up the arrow, finding a small letter attached to it. He pulled the red string from the letter and read its contents, his eyes slendering at the sight. He sighed lightly and brushed a long strand of hair from his face. The darkness around him sunk back into the ground and his voice returned to its single whisper as he prepared to do something that noone was expecting.

"It appears that you are no longer of value to me... Ezekial. There shall not be a next time."

The young demon quickly ran intot he crowds of civillians upon the arrival of the Templars, allowing him to blend in with the people and make a quick escape through the shadows. He was gone, just like that, and noone was going to stop him.

Ezekiel saw the templars, and vanished into the alleyways. He did not understand why Tenchi changed his mind, but it was not important right now. All he knew was that there was noone else to rule the Rogues. So he set forth to the docks in order to climb aboard his galleon. Ezekiel set forth to Roma, to control Rogues. He was going to become a leader. The rogues needing someone and he was the last one remaining willing to control the outcasts. He had readied the galleon himself, and set sail. The docks were not far from his location anyways. Hearing the howls of the night, he knew those were not the last of the followers, for there were more in Roma. Although, obviously, Animo was not in Roma. That concludes this contract.

Contract finished.
